Information

Sharks and rays are one of the most threatened groups of animals on the planet. To help preserve these amazing species, PADI is proud to partner with Blancpain to introduce the Global Shark & Ray Census, a global citizen science program that aims to monitor shark and ray populations and to ensure they are protected from extinction.

This is the world’s largest diver–led data collection program for sharks and rays, collecting diver observations to support global monitoring efforts and helping strengthen protections for vulnerable shark and ray species. As part of a growing diver-powered ocean monitoring network, each recorded sighting contributes to a clearer picture of ocean health and informs conservation action worldwide.
