For more than twenty‑five years, the Paris International Dive Show has offered an exceptional showcase for underwater imagery, a discipline inseparable from the practice of scuba diving.

Each edition highlights a different theme, and for this 28th edition, we have chosen a subject that is deeply rooted in underwater exploration:

Wrecks

Wrecks are places of memory, mystery, and discovery. They tell forgotten stories, frozen in time, and offer divers a unique playground where light, structure, and perspective create scenes of remarkable intensity.
By choosing this theme, the Paris Dive Show invites photographers to reveal the silent beauty of these sleeping giants, to capture their singular atmosphere, and to share the fascination they inspire beneath the surface.

The photo competition of the Paris International Dive Show features two distinct categories, allowing all photographers to participate according to their level of experience:
• “Amateur Photographer” Category   
• “Expert Photographer” Category
A photographer is considered Expert if they have already been awarded in previous competitions, whether national or international, or if they have published their photographs in a magazine, as part of an exhibition, or on a recognised website. Publications on personal social media accounts are not taken into consideration for this classification.

General Information and Guidelines

• The competition is open to all photographers, regardless of age or nationality.
• When registering, each participant must choose either the Amateur Category or the Expert Category. Any error in the category selection will result in the invalidation of the entry and the exclusion of the submitted photographs from the competition. If an error is identified by the Jury after the results have been announced, the awarded prize may be withdrawn.
• The competition aims to promote scuba diving and highlight the richness of the underwater world through imagery.
• For the 2027 edition, all submitted photographs must feature a wreck, regardless of its type: ship, aircraft, submerged structure, etc.
• Apart from this thematic requirement, participants enjoy complete artistic freedom. Image composition is left to the photographer’s discretion. The shooting location is unrestricted, provided the photograph is taken underwater and in a natural environment. Each participant must indicate the exact location of the shot, the name of the wreck, and provide information about its history.
• Each participant may register in only one category. Any double registration will result in exclusion.
• Participants may submit between 1 and 3 photographs.

Image Submission and Processing

• Images may be uploaded in jpeg, jpg, png, or webp formats.
• The maximum file size allowed is 10 MB. There are no limitations regarding pixel dimensions or dpi.
• Post‑processing is permitted without restriction. However, this is not a digital editing competition: winning images must reflect reality and represent a genuine diving experience.
• Black and white images are accepted.
• The photographer’s name must not appear on the images, in order to ensure a fully anonymous evaluation by the Jury.
• Cropping is allowed, provided that the final resolution remains sufficient for optimal display and evaluation of the winning images.
• AI‑generated images, even partially, are strictly prohibited. The competition aims to highlight the authentic experience of the diver and the capture of a real moment underwater. 
• The organisation cannot, under any circumstances, proceed with the registration, upload or submission of photographs on behalf of participants.
  Each author is solely responsible for submitting their own works and ensuring the validity of their entry.

Competition Dates

• Registration for the competition, as well as the submission of photographs, must be completed no later than 15 November 2026 at midnight (UTC/GMT +1).
• The results will be announced on Saturday, 16 January 2027 at 5:30 pm, during the Paris International Dive Show, on the Main Stage (Espace Scénique).
• Please note: participation in the competition does not grant free entry to the Show.

Jury and Awards

• The 2027 competition is organised in partnership with FORUM PHOTOSUB.
• Each category will be awarded: three winners will be selected in both the Amateur and Expert categories.
• The winners will discover the results during the official awards ceremony, held on Saturday, 16 January 2027, at the Show.
