History It all started in 1991 when Tord Mattson began creating products for diving. Initially, he repaired drysuits and other diving equipment while also developing products that were unavailable on the market at the time. His expertise and craftsmanship soon gained recognition, attracting customers ranging from individual divers to Swedish authorities, such as the police and military. Many of his products were custom-made by hand, including carrying handles for cylinders, work lights, camera housings, and even high-pressure filling equipment.

Around 2000, Tord designed a 3 mm stainless steel backplate, which quickly gained popularity among divers in the local dive community. This was followed by the Habrok 50 lb wing, which underwent extensive testing to achieve optimal balance. The success of these products led to further innovations, shifting the business focus from drysuit repairs to product development and the manufacturing of professional scuba equipment.
This marked the birth of the Agir brand.  

New era In 2025, Agir was acquired by the Santi Group, a leading manufacturer of premium diving equipment. Santi took over Agir’s management, production, and customer service, integrating the brand into its operations. With a strong reputation for high-quality drysuits, undersuits, and heating systems, Santi ensured that Agir’s products met the same strict standards.
Today, all Agir equipment, including BCDs and backplates, is produced at Santi’s factory in northern Poland. However, despite this shift in production, Agir remains deeply connected to its Scandinavian roots. Our phrase, „Inspired by Viking heritage,” is more than just words—it reflects our commitment to durability, resilience, and the pioneering spirit of Scandinavian explorers. This merger has strengthened Agir’s legacy, allowing us to provide divers with high-performance gear backed by Santi’s expertise and innovation. As part of the Santi Group, Agir continues to deliver durable and reliable equipment for both professional and recreational divers worldwide.
